Dungarees

So the saga of the dungarees continues. I know, I know- one of these days I will blog about important stuff. Anyways, I decided today was the day to wear them. I hadn't taken them out of the bag since trying them on in the fitting rooms over 2 weeks ago. So I got ready for school and waited till the last minute to put on my dungarees. Needless to say I was a bit confused once I had them on. They fit fine on top, but the bottom half seemed a bit too big. I know the boyfriend fit is supposed to be a bit baggy, but they seemed too baggy. Thankfully I didn't take the tags off yet, because I think I am going to go back to the shop and try on a smaller size. So the furthest these dungarees got was the bathroom mirror. But I did decide that I do love them, and I'm gonna rock them.

What thinks you people??

A little too baggy hey? Or is it just me? I don't really like too much crotch material. (That was an awful sentence, I know)

And I definitely think white lace-up takkies would look better.

Oh, and I got a fringe! I am quite conservative when it comes to my hair. The last time I had a fringe was when I was 12 and they looked like something out of 90210. So you can imagine the nerve it took! I was inspired by Lea Michele from Glee. First, isn't she so stunning? I love the look of her fringe and the length. It's long enough that you aren't stuck with it for long as well. I also like that it's not very thick. See, that would be a massive mistake because then who knows how long it will take to be fringe-less again.

I also finally got a hair cut. I hate getting my hair trimmed because I'm trying to grow it out. But I have been having this massive problem the last couple... maybe 3 months. My hair was falling out like crazy. I had to clean my hair brush out every single time I was done brushing it. And when I woke up in the mornings, I could pick hair off my pillow. Gross hey? I had no idea why. I thought maybe it was because I wasn't eating enough veggies, so I upped my veg intake. Then I started taking folic acid and got better at taking my multi-vitamin. Nothing worked. It was dreadful. And it wasn't broken hair, it was full strands. Anyway, I hadn't gotten my hair cut in about 8 months so I decided it was way past time to get it trimmed. Long story long, a trim wasn't good enough. I needed a good cut. So I closed my eyes and let Ashley chop away. And you know what? Since Tuesday I have had barely any hair fall out. I don't know why. I didn't realize hair cuts worked such magic! Cool ne?

And here you have it... The Fringe:

I think I like them. Maybe they accentuate my nose, but nothing that can't be corrected with a little under the knife action! Ha ha.. Just kidding about the plastic surgery!

Moving on.

I was at Costco a few days ago picking up prints for a retail buying project I had to do and the man behind the counter handed me a 8x10 with my moms name on it. I was like- what the h- what picture did she order in December and forgot to pick up? What is so strange about this is I have picked up photos before this particular pick-up and no such print ever existed! So I had to open it up and see and guess who I found???

What do you know! It's a South African! Ruby-Lynn, did you realize you were missing this picture from your trip in December? I think not!
Beautiful though hey? She has some of the most stunning wedding photos! I think I may have to keep it for myself.
Oh, and on a totally different subject about my cousend (cousin/friend)... Ruby is PREGNANT! I am so excited for her and Chace and I cannot wait to meet baby Courtney. ha ha :)

And lastly...

My mom and Liisa are taking a real-estate course to get their licenses so I get to baby-sit Payton for half a day on Mondays. He is constantly moving and loves to smack Brutus (our elderly bearded collie) on the bum. Can he get any cuter?

Thats all for now!

I'm Your Bass Creator

So I don't even know where to start this post. I have been obsessed with Basshunter for years and I was so excited to go see him on Friday evening. As much as I kept telling myself that seeing him would be a classy event. You know... Kinda like seeing Josh Groban at the Metropolitan Museum of Art or something like that! Because I like to think that I am a classy person (Candice- do not comment!) But it wasn't, and deep down inside I knew that.

When I started getting ready, I decided that it was going to be such an epic night I needed to document everything! So we start with the outfits:

It started with the hair. Which took longer than hair should ever take. I have curly hair, so I first have to spend 30 minutes blow-drying it and the curly must have taken at least an hour. I used a new mousse, therefore, I blame it on that! Thanks to Busy Bee Lauren for the tips or it may have taken me even longer. And don't mind the vein coming out of my forehead- it's been there since birth.

I wore my trusty Mr. Price jelly shoes. So comfortable, and flat, and the cutest jelly flats I've ever found so far. Plus, you can't beat the price. Especially with the favourable exchange rate!

As for perfume, I had to wear my special occasion perfume. Flower Bomb by Viktor and Rolf. Reese knows I'm serious about where we're going when I spray that stuff.

I wore my Cape Town flea market earrings. I love love LOVE them. And I felt like they were perfect for our classy night.

And of course, I had to wear my trusty snake bangle. Yep, I pulled out all the stops for Basshunter!

And here is the final ensemble. I thought my outfit was quite fitting to go see Basshunter.... Shiny shirt and leggings. Should be good, right?

And then Reese and I decided to have a photo shoot before we left. Conceited? Well it is my bloog!
Reese wore his most "clubby shirt". He said (in his thickest SA accent) "Courts, it's from South Africa so that means its exotic and club worthy."

Back to how I thought our outfits were fitting... Turns out we were dressed completely inappropriately. Or maybe the better word for it would be completely over-dressed.

I should have been wearing something exactly like this:

Or maybe tried something like this:

Maybe I should have invited some of my blogging friends and we could have dressed up like the Spice Girls on drugs?

And my personal favourite... The animal raver...

I was especially upset that I didn't bring my bearded collie hair boots:

Reese would have been dressed more appropriately if he had skipped the shirt and cut off his pant legs. That way when he sweat, he could have look just like this:
(Perfect excuse to post a picture of Channing Tatum hey?)

The lines were insane! Reese and I waited in line for at least 1.5 hours, inhaled a fair amount of cigarette/marijuana smoke, and was offered "pills" a couple times. It was madness. So Reese went off to see if there was a shorter line. Sure enough, he found a line of about 5 people and we were in 5 minutes later.

We got into Stratus at about 9:30pm. Basshunter wasn't going to be appearing till 11pm so Reese and I had a little bit of time to kill. So we danced! The DJ's that played before were A-MA-ZING. Reese and I have never had such fun dancing since our wedding. All the pictures and video's were taken off the phone. So they're not the best quality and because I am not technologically advanced, all the video's are at the bottom of this post. We had fun dancing and slowly made our way to the front of the dance floor. Right around 11pm, Basshunter arrived. OH MY GOSH! He was amazing. I wish the pictures turned out better. But because of the sweaty people and the fog machines, they didn't turn out so nice. But without further ado, my other husband (the Swedish version)... BASSHUNTER:

Oh man! He was soooo worth the pushing and touching other people's sweaty bodies, smelling like a bag of weed, and having ringing ears for hours after. Reese was such a champ for coming with me, and I promise- he actually had fun. He can actually sing most of Basshunter's songs by heart. (shhh... :))

I woke up the next morning with his arm and leg on me. I'd like to say this was a one time thing, but it happens often! Does anyone else have a bed hogger? :)

And this is what I found 5 minutes later:

It was such a great night! I can't wait to see Basshunter again. Only this time I really hope it's at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Inside Stratus!

Such a great opening!

After a while, the front of the club was getting too crowded so Reese and I moved to the back!

And that was our Friday night! The end! :)
