OMH And Other Things I Despise

Once upon a time I was talking to Hillery on the phone. This is what I said: "Oh, ja, and I think we've seen the last of the snow"

It gets worse...

30 minutes after pushing snow, I was finally off to work.

Zero visability on the highway

Just my luck, I know!

I despise trucks. They should run on ther own highway.

Beans. Gross.

Utah drivers. No offense.

No, not the pretty mountains- University Parkway. Ugh.

Well, that is all for now.
Things I love?
Reese and Lady Gaga's clean fish bowl.

BYU vs UNM

The fun started when Reese and I arrived to the game 2 hours early.
We ran into some friends, so sat with them during the game!
We also got free Kayne glasses... They will go in the date box and stay there.
It was great because that Sarah and Trent were there because it gave us people to talk to that weren't covered in body paint or holding up blown up heads of the BYU head coach and assistant coach.
I begged Reese to let me wear red, but he said he would fight someone, so I landed up wearing purple instead. Good thing too, because I would have stuck out like a sore thumb in the sea of blue.
There was a cool opening show for the BYU boys, the white drapes dropped down from the ceiling.
There weren't too many New Mexican supporters there...
We also enjoyed seeing all the old couples there...
BYU has terrible sportsmanship, that is one thing I did discover today. Before the game started they had a little "how to be rude, without being completely rude" tutorial.
The UNM boys warming up. Number 1 is the best player by far. He is left handed like me, so I am not surprised. :)
It was a close game the whole time. Sarah and Trent were so tense in the last few seconds.
Of course when UNM won, BYU showed good sportsmanship by throwing things onto the court.
BYU player, #45 was a real chop. First, can his pants sit any higher? Secondly, he was called on a foul and almost hit the Ref. Please take note of a friend making sure he didn't get kicked out of the building.
Yes, the right thing to do would be to apologise to the Ref you wanted to punch hoping he would change his mind about the foul. Killing him with fake kindness did not work.
The last 0.6 seconds lasted about 8 minutes because of time-outs. That was extremely annoying.
End of the game score! GO LOBOS!
Reese was SO HAPPY!
Along with the joy inside me as we left, seeing all the angry BYU people... I also left with a headache because everytime UNM had the ball (which was a lot of the time) BYUers would do this:

I LIKE IT!

I got a job (finally) for the next 3 months at a Disability Law Firm as a legal assistant. Today was my first day, and I quite enjoyed myself. I think it's going to be fun. It's Monday through Friday, from 8am-5pm. So now to work hard, and get lots of bonuses! Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!

No more tonge

On Friday night Reese had a basketball game, and of course being the good wife I am I attended. Anyways, Reese had the ball quite a bit and EVERYTIME he had it... the tonge was sticking out. Whether he was running down the court, bouncing the ball, or shooting it his tonge was out. And actually now that I think about it, his tonge was out when he was trying to block guys as well! On the drive home, I let him know that everytime I saw that tonge come out I cringed because if anyones elbow/hand/anything hit him in the chin or anywhere around the face... he would bite his tonge off. What did he have to say about my concerned-ness? "Ha ha, my mom used to tell me that when I was younger all the time"

So I think I am going to bring a bucket of ice to every game now. Just in case Reese does bite his tonge off, we'll need something to keep it cold on the way to the ER.

Basketball

Reese is playing basketball tonight. My feelings on this are a bit iffy...
Why do you ask? Well why don't I show ya...
See how swollen and gross that toe is? Reese broke it on a stair last year, and ever since that tragic day his poor little big toe has been stepped on, dropped on, twisted, hit by the doorway, hit by the chair, hit by things left on the floor, had surgery on, etc... You get the point.
So you see why I am a bit worried with him running around with hot headed BYU guys who THINK they are the best at basketball and trodding their big feet around my Reesey's poor toe.
Game one went well, Reese was only pushed to the ground 5 times but no sore toe. We'll just have to wait and see and hope nothing happens!

He is number 12

Lilly and Patty

Remember these two sweeties?
Well... I miss them!
Patty

Lilly

She's making sure I am still chasing her...

Waiting for Patty to come around the corner...

Reese came with me one night. The girls LOVED him. I think I should have done the internship and he should have nannied. The next couple pictures are proof...

Patricia relaxing with Reese.

I know, Lily is really that small! My nalgene is pretty much her size.

So in love...

Of course she'd be so calm and relaxed when Reese comes to help...

Reese and his girlfriends. Lillian, Horsey, and Patricia.

New York

We went to New York right at the end of November via bus! We took one of the many charter buses from DC to NY. It was the cheapest way to go... only $70 roundtrip for both of us. The bus left at 7AM, and it was a good 45 min walk/metro ride so that is why we have bags just fyi...
First thing we saw getting off the bus! I couldn't wait to see the movie, and I was not disappointed either. Reese loved it too. Matt Damon as a South African rugby player? YUMMY! Oh, and a little side note- my cousin Meg Tanner did the make up and hair for the movie. Yes, she has pictures with Matt Damon and got to touch him. Yes, I was jealous too.
Our first stop for lunch was the famous Carnegie Deli. FACT: This place closes at 4AM and opens again at 6AM. Who eats heart-attack sizes of meat at 1/2/3AM in the morning?
Now you see why we had to share.... Massive. I couldn't even finish my half of it. The gherkins were homemade and yummy too!
Of course, we had to get dessert. Yes, American super-sized. It was pretty yummy though. Reese and I barely put a dent in it before we were sweeted out.
We were on our way to Rustins flat, and decided to stop and take a picture at the pretty park.
Possibly my most excited face ever! Jon and Triana bought us Wicked tickets while we were on our trip (coolest parents-in-law ever right? i know!) And oh. my. word. I could not contain my excitement.
The picture is a bit blury... but it'll have to do... :)
Proof that a) we really went to Wicked b) we saw it on Broadway in New York and c) we had amazing AMAZING seats.
No pictures were allowed in the theatre, so I had to be sneaky. I didn't zoom or anything. Look how close we are! 12 rows from the front.
Reese found a famous basketball player at the show with his girlfriend. Of course he is massive.
Another sneaky picture! :)
Magnolia's is a MUST when you go to New York. It was the perfect end to our perfect date night!
They are famous for their cupcakes, which are delicious... but nothing compares to the bananna pudding. If they shipped, I would definitely order it.
See what I mean? It was Reese's virgin experience at Magnolia's and look, complete ectasy.
Don't care how many calories are in that stuff... I would eat it everyday if I could.
So happy to be there!
The next morning, we walked down the street and decided to stop by this bakery... Only after we went inside did we realise we were at a place we'd see on the Food Network. The Levain Bakery is this tiny little hole in the wall that you probably would just walk past. They make the lightest, fluffiest muffins that are absolutely divine. It's definately not your costco heavy/feel like i've just eaten an entire loaf of bread type muffin. Then they also make these cookies. Holy smokes. Please just take a look... http://www.levainbakery.com/
Clearly not ready for the picture. Reese and I walked around Central Park for a bit. It wasn't too cold, and a beautiful day!
Check my handsome man. Mmmhmm!
Pretty, pretty.
The Met!
"Give me food!!!!"
He was a bit frustrated and hungry after waiting 1+ hour to eat lunch at Serendipitys.
The actual food isn't too much to brag about. The only reasons you come to Serendipity's is because of the movie, and the frozen hot chocolate...
I am pretty sure I hogged most of it...
Told ya!
Construction of the massive Christmas tree.
I don't iceskate, but it was fun watching all the people!
Free hugs on our way back to the bus... how kind!
But we had to stop by Fashion Ave before we headed back to DC!

So although we were only in New York for 28 odd hours or so, it was still a great trip. We can't wait to go back!
