Via Spiga Please!

Reese and I did a little bit of shopping (mostly window) on Saturday. We were at Nordstroms Rack and while Reese was trying on clothes and not coming out of the fitting room to show me like a narna I was in the shoe section looking for wedges.

Thats when I found these:

Aren't they gorgeous? Unfortunately... maybe fortunately... they didn't have my size. So I went online and the only other place I can find that has them is the actual website. Problem because of the price. They were tons cheaper at Nordstroms Rack. Ugh. Why is my life so difficult?

Just kidding.

I think they are amazing though. Do you think they'll be around come October (birth month)? I hope so!

Dungarees

So the saga of the dungarees continues. I know, I know- one of these days I will blog about important stuff. Anyways, I decided today was the day to wear them. I hadn't taken them out of the bag since trying them on in the fitting rooms over 2 weeks ago. So I got ready for school and waited till the last minute to put on my dungarees. Needless to say I was a bit confused once I had them on. They fit fine on top, but the bottom half seemed a bit too big. I know the boyfriend fit is supposed to be a bit baggy, but they seemed too baggy. Thankfully I didn't take the tags off yet, because I think I am going to go back to the shop and try on a smaller size. So the furthest these dungarees got was the bathroom mirror. But I did decide that I do love them, and I'm gonna rock them.

What thinks you people??

A little too baggy hey? Or is it just me? I don't really like too much crotch material. (That was an awful sentence, I know)

And I definitely think white lace-up takkies would look better.

Oh, and I got a fringe! I am quite conservative when it comes to my hair. The last time I had a fringe was when I was 12 and they looked like something out of 90210. So you can imagine the nerve it took! I was inspired by Lea Michele from Glee. First, isn't she so stunning? I love the look of her fringe and the length. It's long enough that you aren't stuck with it for long as well. I also like that it's not very thick. See, that would be a massive mistake because then who knows how long it will take to be fringe-less again.

I also finally got a hair cut. I hate getting my hair trimmed because I'm trying to grow it out. But I have been having this massive problem the last couple... maybe 3 months. My hair was falling out like crazy. I had to clean my hair brush out every single time I was done brushing it. And when I woke up in the mornings, I could pick hair off my pillow. Gross hey? I had no idea why. I thought maybe it was because I wasn't eating enough veggies, so I upped my veg intake. Then I started taking folic acid and got better at taking my multi-vitamin. Nothing worked. It was dreadful. And it wasn't broken hair, it was full strands. Anyway, I hadn't gotten my hair cut in about 8 months so I decided it was way past time to get it trimmed. Long story long, a trim wasn't good enough. I needed a good cut. So I closed my eyes and let Ashley chop away. And you know what? Since Tuesday I have had barely any hair fall out. I don't know why. I didn't realize hair cuts worked such magic! Cool ne?

And here you have it... The Fringe:

I think I like them. Maybe they accentuate my nose, but nothing that can't be corrected with a little under the knife action! Ha ha.. Just kidding about the plastic surgery!

Moving on.

I was at Costco a few days ago picking up prints for a retail buying project I had to do and the man behind the counter handed me a 8x10 with my moms name on it. I was like- what the h- what picture did she order in December and forgot to pick up? What is so strange about this is I have picked up photos before this particular pick-up and no such print ever existed! So I had to open it up and see and guess who I found???

What do you know! It's a South African! Ruby-Lynn, did you realize you were missing this picture from your trip in December? I think not!
Beautiful though hey? She has some of the most stunning wedding photos! I think I may have to keep it for myself.
Oh, and on a totally different subject about my cousend (cousin/friend)... Ruby is PREGNANT! I am so excited for her and Chace and I cannot wait to meet baby Courtney. ha ha :)

And lastly...

My mom and Liisa are taking a real-estate course to get their licenses so I get to baby-sit Payton for half a day on Mondays. He is constantly moving and loves to smack Brutus (our elderly bearded collie) on the bum. Can he get any cuter?

Thats all for now!

Thoughts

I've always loved dungarees. In fact, I owned and wore a pair up until grade 11. What happened to them after that? Well someone who will remain nameless (although it doesn't matter in the least since I haven't seen this particular person since high school) told me I looked like his mother when I wore my dungarees to school. They we disposed of as soon as I was able to get off campus. Ja, ja, I understand all great things do occasionally come to an end... But my question is, can they come back? And when I say they, I mean dungarees! They are back- in stores at least. And not just for 6-12 month old babies. The question is should they be? I think so. I've always liked them... But I'm a little nervous someone might mistake me for their mother. But I bought a pair from H&M the other day anyways. They're still in the packet. I have yet to show Reese because I'm nervous of his reaction! Isn't that so weird? Usually I could care less if he thinks my outfit are terrible... I wear what I want! But given the nature of... them... I think I will actually care. I have the outfit in my head. And in my head it looks fabulous! The dungarees are the usual on top and have a boyfriend pant fit from the waist down and roll up at the bottom. I think a plain v-neck with white takkies would look excellent... wedges would look pretty cute too! And no, not Pippy Longstockings hair. Maybe just a pony tail. So it becomes just a matter of execution. And being brave enough to wear it out... or not just out, to one of my fashion classes next week. Oh well- I guess we will see next week!

Oh Boy

Where on earth do I start? I haven't bloogged in almost a month! Its terrible, but I do have a lot of excuses this time around. First, lets start with my new job:

Meet Bode, Hannah, and Jett. Aren't they cute? They count as three different excuses.

They're the 6-month old triplets I nanny during the week.

Yes, triplets. Yes, triple the poo. And no, they're not always in their bumbo's... only when I want to take photos!

They keep me pretty busy. Someone or all three is always awake wanting to play or be fed. They're not fussy children at all though, so that makes my job pretty easy!

And meet their massive dog, Maggie:

This is how she likes to spend most of her time during the day. I am not even joking. She isn't playing around or rolling over, she is sleeping. The only problem I have with her is her vile poof-winds.

My next excuse is school. I know its only been a month but when you take a 2 year break, a month of class and homework is a lot! But I am enjoying it nonetheless.

A few weeks ago I got to go to Las Vegas for a class. We got to go to MAGIC. It's a trade show for apparel and it was so amazing. I don't have any pictures inside because that wasn't allowed, but I did manage to snap one off my phone inside one of the halls in Mandalay Bay.

Between Mandalay Bay and the Las Vegas Convention Center you could shop for anything (If you're a a store owner or a buyer for a company...) from shoes to handbags, sourcing to ready-to-wear. I can't say it enough. It was A-MA-ZING! There were thousands of vendors from all over the world selling their stuff from the never heard of brand names to Betsey Johnson, Steve Madden, Free People, etc. All the clothing, textiles, shoes were for Fall of 2011... obviously. We also got to go to the seminars they were having at the convention center. My favourite was the Snoops prediction seminar. Snoops is a company the predicts fashion trends. Companies pay them thousands of dollars a year to get the coveted information. So we got to sit through an hour of fashion predictions for Spring and Fall of 2012. IT WAS AWESOME! I will share my notes on a different post.

Anyways, along with all the fashion stuff we also got to walk around the Strip and shop a bit. Firstly, Vegas is rather trashy- at least the Strip. I was unimpressed, especially during the day. During the evening Vegas redeemed herself with all the pretty lights that hid the ugly.

The lion's in the Mirage.

The famous MGM.

I actually quite like this photo! Especially since its a phone pic.... Thats where we stayed. NY NY!

View of the Strip during the day. Not that great...

I know, I am really weird because I took this picture. But I had to! Here is my theory. That is a business man who came to Vegas on a Tuesday for business. He is done working for the day and has decided to take an escort to dinner, and then a show. Oh, and she is wearing fake Christian Louboutin heels. That is all!
(p.s. If you are that couple and my theory is wrong, I do apologize...)

Best H&M ever!

Example of trashy:

Vegas redeeming herself at night! Thats me and two of my classmates, Nicollette and Nicolette. I am not being funny with their names. Those are them!

Posing in front of the strip.

The Strip at night= much better!

We made it just in time for the water show at the Bellagio. I wish I would have taken video of it. I can't remember the song that played, but the water danced to it.

It was the coolest dancing water I have ever seen.

I have to say my favourite part of the free time we had in Vegas was discovering how amazing the Ross was on the Strip. I hate Ross, especially the ones in Arizona. I think they are dirty and always full of... people and I just cant stand to touch the dirty clothing and try on the gross shoes. I love TJ Maxx and Marshalls, but not Ross. Call me a snob, I don't care. I just don't like Ross... usually. But I loved the Ross on the Strip! It was new and clean and full of amazing clothes and shoes! I wear an American shoe size 8. Its a popular size and there is usually no cute shoes left at places like Ross because of that reason. Well this Ross had rows and rows and rows of just sized 8 shoes. And they were all cute! Amazing right? I know, I know! So now I can't wait to go back to Vegas and shop at Ross. Although, next time I go Reese is definitely coming with. I missed him dearly and of course Vegas wasn't as much fun without him.

Anyways, thats all the excuses I can think of for now.

Cheers!
